The Wordle of God

Wordle is a brilliant, fun tool developed by Jonathan Feinberg that lets you generate beautiful artwork based upon any input text you provide.

Using this page, you can search for any Bible passage on Bible Gateway and submit it to Wordle to see what you get. Whilst fun in its own right, there's also a more serious purpose behind the tool - it's a brilliant way to get an overview of a passage as a whole, and to see which repeated words stand out.

Over time I might add new features to allow you to treat words that are similar as the same - at the moment, variations on words like "promises", "promise" and "promised" are all treated as distinct entities.

Update: Sadly, Bible Gateway doesn't like me doing this, so have blocked my site from accessing it :(
